Julie Hernandez was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She has a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in painting and drawing from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She has a second degree from UTSA in Elementary Education. Julie is a certified Texas teacher with endorsements in Fine Arts and English as a Second Language. She spent five years in the classroom before leaving to have her first son. Currently she is a full-time mom to two little boys, as well as a working artist. Julie lives in North Texas with her husband and sons and runs jaeartworks out of a studio in their home.
Julie uses the name “Julia” in all her art. It started back in college as a tribute to her great- grandfather, who left her the money to pay for her art degree. He called her Julia.
